Career Interests and Aptitude

Changing to a new career?     Deciding upon a first career?

Unsure of declaring a major?   Thinking of going back to school?

Some careers we know we don't want, even if we would be great doing them.  Some careers we would love to have, but we will never be able to do them.  Career and Interest testing helps broadens choices while narrowing the field.

Career testing doesn't solve all career decisions, but it offers a wealth of information to help anyone who is struggling with the career decisions.

Why have career testing?

Anyone wanting more information about career opportunities that they for which they are well-suited.  People changing jobs due to personal reasons, downsizing, or general dissatisfaction.  People re-entering the work-force after an absence.  People who are entering the work force but haven't formulated a satisfactory plan.

What is career testing?

Career testing includes examination of your interests and skills.  It also includes examination of your capabilities to determine the best fit.  Our assessment also includes examination of your unique set of life goals and motivations.  These pieces of information are compiled to present you with insights and options for your future.

Will career testing tell me the career that I should have?

Career testing offers suggestions for career paths that utilize your strengths and matches your interests and goals.  It does not give one specific career that you should have, but rather indicates several different career paths that might meet your life goals.

What is involved?

Assessment includes an interview, paper and pencil testing, and feedback.  Some people choose to schedule follow-up visits to monitor progress and make plans for making a career change become a reality.  Follow-up visits are not necessary, and could be arranged with a separate therapist.

What is the cost?

Career assessment usually costs between $150-300.
