Why have psychological testing?

People are usually referred for psychological testing to answer specific questions.  The answers are assumed to be helpful in determining a treatment path or better understanding treatment obstacles.  Common questions include:

What is the diagnosis?  

Is the diagnosis _____ or ______?

What personality characteristics will affect treatment?

What underlying symptoms are affecting treatment?

What is involved in psychological testing?

Psychological testing usually includes an interview, paper and pencil tests, and sometimes tests administered by the Psychologist or Psychometrician.

How long does testing take?

The entire assessment process usually takes 2-4 hours and is completed in one day.

What is the cost?  

Cost varies depending upon tests utilized.  Generally, testing ranges from $250 - $600.  We will be able to offer you an estimate prior to testing.
